Here in Spain and the Costa Blanca, the biggest asset to golf is that it generally comes with the sunshine!
The Costa Blanca is reported to have 320 days of sunshine per year, this obviously enables us to play golf here, when back in the UK, or other more temperate European countries, the weather is terrible and/or the course is closed. These weather conditions also enable green staff to maintain golf courses to the highest level 12 months per year.
On the Costa Blanca, either in, around or not far from the Orihuela Costa, we have such a variety of golf courses we can cover everything from tight woodland courses such as Las Ramblas to long championship courses such as La Finca.

There really is something here for every standard of golfer, from beginner to Professional Championship Players and with new courses opening every year this region is sure to be an absolute golfers paradise. There are courses ideal for beginners in the form of La Torre and La Marquesa which also have plenty of challenges for the experienced golfer and with new courses opening such as Lo Romero they are perfect for men and ladies to play together on an even playing field.
One of the newest courses to recently open is Peraleja, this course is a Severiano Ballesteros course and is truly spectacular...a golfer's dream.
I believe this region will be in contention to hold some of the big tour events in the not to distant future, Polaris world are set to open yet another 5 star course this year and with classics such as Alicante which is one of a kind meandering through the city and having just finished the rebuilding of there greens the possibility’s are endless.
Another good reason for golfing on the Costa Blanca, is that due to the current economic climate many of the courses are offering fantastic offers, thus making it more affordable to play some of the worlds best courses.
If it is to expensive to bring your own clubs you can hire them for as little as 10 euros per day and with flights and accommodation at a record low in price now is the time to take a break and treat yourself.

On The Orihuela Costa:-
Villamartin Golf Course.
This Championship Course, oozes class as soon as you wander through the entrance gardens complete with fountain and statue of an angelic lady golfer.
You won't be disappointed by the 6037 metre, par 72 course either. There are some great holes and plenty of expensive eye-catching mansions on the courses perimeter.
Club Real de Campoamor.
This course is set amongst beautiful un-spoilt countryside and was designed to make use of the unusual terrain of the area.
The course is surrounded by low undulating ridges which can protect the golfer from wind, making this a good course to play throughout the year.
This course opened in 1989 and was designed by Carmelo Gracias Carselles.
Facilities include a clubhouse, driving range, pro shop, buggy hire, cafe and social club.

Lo Romero.
Lo Romero is a brand new course only opening in January 2008. It is an 18 hole, par 72 course.
With Lo Romero being a traditionally styled course it makes it very`playable for all levels of golfer.
La Finca.
Excellent tees, greens and fairway. This golf course is highly recommended as the course is on two levels and the bunkers are placed in just the right places to catch the misdirected balls.
La Marquesa.
Wide fairways interspersed with canals, lakes and other obstacles, makes this a course in which all players find enjoyable.It is a course that ranks as very comfortable, yet gives players a chance to use a wide variety of irons.
