Each year on the Orihuela Costa and in surrounding areas, there are programmes of special events or occasions, run either by the Town Hall or local businesses or a collabaration of both.

SOL TV Bikini Bash 2010
It’s back! Bigger, better and bolder than before, the Bikini Bash 2010 is once again going to rock the Costa Blanca as we attempt to break the Guinness World Record for having the most photographed women in bikinis in one place.

It’s back! Bigger, better and bolder than before, the Bikini Bash 2010 is once again going to rock the Costa Blanca as we attempt to break the Guinness World Record for having the most photographed women in bikinis in one place.
Sol Productions held the first Bikini Bash on September 20th 2009 to celebrate their 5th anniversary and to try and break the World Record, attempted by Russia who gathered together 1923 women in bikinis. In August 2009 an attempt was made back in the UK in Southend but just 43 women turned up.
The Costa Blanca beat that and whilst support was great on the day with over 2000 people enjoying the events on Campoamor beach, weather was not on our side and the record was not broken, so this year, it’s all systems go to ensure the record is bought to the Costas where it belongs!
P.S. They're even getting the men involved......

2009. Events.

- Medieval Market - Torrevieja (1-3 May) - Parque de Naciones
- Aerobic Marathon - Torrevieja (13 June) - Pabelleon de Deportes from 17.30hrs
- Moors & Christians Festival - ( approx 16th July) - Orihuela City (check with Town Hall for buses and times). The Orihuela Costa Town Hall arrange FREE buses to Orihuela for this event.
- ECO Orihuela Costa 'Pirates' Festival ( 4-5 July). La Zenia to Playa Flamenca Parade followed by Fiesta in Town Hall car park ( side of Mercadona, Playa Flamenca).
- The ORIHUELA COSTA VOLLEYBALL CUP - 15th & 16th AUGUST - La Zenia Beach -

3. A health Mind & Body MInd & Body Event
Maxx Gym, Playa Flamenca, sponsored by the Ayuntiamento (Town Hall) and a host of local businesses (including the Orihuela Costa dot com team), held the third event of five special health & fitness events, on the Paseo of Playa Flamenca.
These events are to promote health and fitness in the area.
The beautiful backdrop of La Mirada at La Zenia beach was the setting for the Mind & body event, kicking off with a contemporary dance exhibition from the Kingsbury School of Dance and followed by a chilling mix of participation events, interlaced with shows & demonstrations.
Tai Chi kicked off the participation events, followed by Pilates, Power Yoga & Body Balance. As the sun set, the torches were lit and the night ended with prize giving and a prize draw for fabulous health & fitness offers and products.
Another sparkling success, with ovet 300 signing up for the events.
Maxx Gym still have another TWO special events, the next one being a Contemporary Dance Event, at:-

2. Spin-Tastic !! The Maxx Gym Spin-A-Thon.
Maxx Gym, Playa Flamenca, sponsored by the Ayuntiamento (Town Hall) and a host of local businesses (including the Orihuela Costa dot com team), held the second event of five special health & fitness events, on the Paseo of Playa Flamenca.
The event was to promote health and fitness in the area and was a resounding success.
A Spin-A-Thon was the order of the day, with an overwhelming amount of participants and onlookers, with stunning dance displays, prize giving and free-giveaways to participante and a prize draw
Again, the looming clouds provided a bit of respite to the enthusiastic participants, who spun their way through a gruelling 5 sets of 50 minute adrenalin pumping spinning class style sessions
Prizes were given out at the end of the final event, being awarded to those who took part in the events, prizes consitsting of Gym Memberships, supplements, goodie bags and a spacial prize of 500 euros to the gym with the most participants.
Another exceptionally successful event then, with the Maxx Gym Team, the Town Hall, Collarabators and the public all enjoying the no-stop action

1. Aerobic Marathon. A MARATHON SUCCESS.
Maxx Gym, Playa Flamenca, sponsored by the Ayuntiamento (Town Hall) and a host of local businesses (including the Orihuela Costa dot com team), held the first of five special health & fitness events, on the Paseo of Playa Flamenca.
The event was to promote health and fitness in the area and was a resounding success.
Hundreds of people attended, with just under 300 participants in the events of the evening, which included Body Combat, Jazz & Latin Aerobics, Aerobic Exercise, and demonstrations of Hip Hop Dance, Comtemporary Dance show, and much more besides.
" We are over the moon at the success of the event and for the amount of people of all ages that attended and participated", told Evelin Scapari, Manager at Maxx Gym. " This event could not have been the success it was without the participants".
Despite the looming dark clouds overhead, no rain fell and attendees who stayed until the final event, were treated to an Body Building Display from Bernhart Scorus, former Bodybuilding Champion of the world, and is currently a personal trainer at Maxx Gym.
Prizes were given out at the end of the final event, being awarded to those who took part in the events, prizes consitsting of Gym Memberships, supplements, goodie bags and more...2 Sepcial prizes were awarded to the oldest & youngest partcipants.
Maxx Gym have another FOUR special events, the next one being a Spin-athon, at Playa Flamenca.
Anyone wishing to attend, needs to register at Maxx Gym, Playa Flamenca by Friday 3rd July.
