Here on the Orihuela Costa we are all kept well up to date with local news, views and opinions from the plethora of local newspapers in ciruculation, serving the Orihuela Costa and much of the Costa Blanca. These are the publications in English.
These are valuable sources of local news, local gossip, local celebrity, local and international sport and, of course keeps those of us who don't watch U.K. telly, up to date of the news from the U.K. and the rest of the world besides.
Our local newspapers provide us with all the information and news that we need with regard to the rest of the Costa Blanca region, keeping us aware of local politics, crime, events and celebrations. With at least one publication out per weekday, there is no need for anyone to miss their local news, along with what has been going on back in your neck of the woods.
Spanish Press (Prensa)
The main Spanish dailies are El Pais, Informatica (usually localised), La Republica, La Vuanguardia, ABC to name but a few.
They provide up to date Spanish and International news and many of them focus on National events and issues and what is happening in the Hispanic Countries in Central & South America.
They are also a great way to learn Spanish and give an insight into the happenings in the Spanish speaking countries around the world.
The U.K. Dailies.
Most of the best known U.K. dailies can be found in the English Newspaper shops and supermarkets around the Orihuela Costa.
They can also be found in dispensing machines in Consum & Carrefour Supermarkets.
Don't expect your Saturday and Sunday supplements and DO expect to pay quite a bit for them (anything between 2.00€ & 4.60€ or even more, epending on your paper of chopice.

The Coastrider is probably one of the best known and popular local English language newspapers in the region, serving from as far North as Benidorm, to the Costa Calida, south of the Orihuela Costa.

The Euro Weekly News is probably the only local newspaper that serves the Eurpoean Continent, with local editions in the various countries that it is published in, ecah one focusing on the news and events within it's partcular region, along side generic editorial and features.

The Costa Blanca News is a paid for publication and has many pull out sections (a bit like the Saturday or Sunday supplements). The Costa Calida Informer focuses mainly on local news regarding to the Costa Calida, butkeeps abreast of local news to the Orihuela Costa and the Costa Blanca and is available in selected outlets along the Orihuela Costa and other parts of the (mainly southern) Costa Blanca.
